Regardless of the weariness that clings to my bones, I can't help but feel that every moment spent in Prague was utterly worthwhile. The journey was not without its financial constraints; after all, budgeting becomes a challenge when you've been unable to work for a week and a half prior to the trip. An unforeseen family emergency had me dashing to Spain due to my father's precarious health, which unfortunately curtailed the scope of my adventures. Nevertheless, the experiences I did manage to embrace in Prague were nothing short of extraordinary.
Allow me to transport you to a realm of mystique, a place where ancient alchemists weave their potent spells and shadowy figures tempt you with nefarious pacts. It's a world encapsulated within the frosty embrace of Prague's nights, where the scent of beer lingers as an ever-present testament to the city's feeling of vibrant almost underground culture.
I return puppets in hand, one rather over priced and if it wan't for my bad mathematics I could have avoided paying ยฃ120 for a puppet, but his beauty was too great for me to return him and if celebrity is a selling point to you dear reader then his maker was that of the gentlemen who made all the puppets in the new Pinocchio film!
In the year 2000 Prague flooded, which unearthed an underground system of tunnels underneath a shop which was revealed to b an alchemical lab. They found a bottle of elixir of life within the flood remains and documents so to me this was absolutely astonishing, it makes you think... what else has Pragues earth got to offer us? Mother Earth will reveal her secrets if we're lucky enough, this place was unbelieveable and again the tour guides were fantastic!
The clock tower was so beautiful, no picture can sum out how incredible it is up close, knowing it's the only astrological clock of it's kind still working in the present day along with just as much myth and legend surrounding it yet with the very real question of how the fuck is it still working is awesome. One can only revel in such engerineering of man.
THE FAUST HOUSE. Where Faust supposedly signed the deal with the devil is above and below or as one should say - as above, so below! Nothing more to say here, a picture says a 1000 words... my excitement and sheer love of being there was the most blissfully satanic id felt in a while. .. As you can see from the picture where I will admit I MAY have been a lil typsee due to the fact I don't really drink anymore and a cocktail at the alchemical bar appropriately named "fallen angel cocktail" was an alchemical success for one becoming impaired for sure! I'm sure the owners loved the fact fell over once or twice whilst trying to do the perfect baphomet pose ๐ but in my defence; one gentlemen literally burst out laughing when I told him I didn't drink lol... So there, it's not my fault for my behaviour, it's pragues... possibly? Maybe?
Being in the Edward Kelly and John Dee Tower was not a feeling I can put into words. The original staircase, which spirals up the tower, leading to the very top where they used to concoct their experiments, creating the alchemical elixir and writing the Angelic language was so beyond most expierences that it did in fact move me to tears. From the legend, and the mythology that surrounds them to overlooking Prague at the very top of the tower whilst I took out my smoke of choice and got high in spirit with my imagination taking control and wondering if they ever did the same thing with the same smokable substance I was indulging in, transported me back to a time where magick was real or transported me to another playing field all together... I unintentionally had a private tour of the museum, and the tour guide was so incredible I really felt well informed, was amused and entertained, they were absolutely fantastic.
All in all the trip went really well other than the fact I would go next time with a bit more cash or not waste ยฃ120 on a puppet, though I do love him lol. I would very much like to go and see the rest of Prague even the bone church just outside of Prague and apparently the poppy fields justnoutaide Prague too which are amazing apparently. One final thing is... there's an apartment place called MOO which is joined ONTO THE JOHN DEE TOWER!! So you can damn well stay there!!! HOW FIERCE IS THAT?
